Adobe
-
The industry leaders for graphics software. Photoshop and Illustrator are the applications I rely on day in and day out to produce my images. I found Illustrator opaque and hard to use at first, but now I love it and rely on it completely.

An absolutely essential application for managing large quantities of media files. With more features than you can poke a stick at, this app allows me to catalogue and manage all the images I use and produce.

Quicksilver
-
This application is still in beta, but it has already become an utterly indispensable tool. Quicksilver allows almost instantaneous access to files, applications, addresses, and other content, all within a few keystrokes. It has completely changed the way I use my Mac, and saved me huge amounts of time now that I don't need to go looking for files. I am a complete Quicksilver zealot, and evangelise about it to anyone who will stand still for long enough. It has a steep learning curve, but once you get your head around the concept, I guarantee it will revolutionise the way you use your Mac. Download it now!

DragThing
-
Even with all the interface goodness that is OS X, DragThing is still the most indispensable application switcher. It is the first thing I install on any computer, or if I do a clean install. I am lost on any Mac that doesn't have it installed.
